Did you know there’s a super powerful, liberating and empowering option built into every single proposal you ever send and enquiry you ever receive, that never ever ever ever changes?
🥁 *drumroll* 🥁
It’s saying “no”.
*tish* (there’s no cymbal emoji).
Like, you can be not-a-jerk about it.
But you are under ABSOLUTELY ZERO obligation to:
If it doesn’t sit right with you.
Obviously weigh up your situation… When cash is right, I know decisions like this aren’t so simple.
But this insight – that I can say no – has blown my mind in several arenas in my life, not just with clients and proposals.
I was going back through some old emails and found one from a young guy I was mentoring – let’s call him Guido – who had sent a proposal to potential client.
That potential client replied with a counter offer: a lower dollar value for the same amount of work, followed by this line: “We are looking forward to your agreement of this proposal”.
Guido emailed me to ask “WTF!!?? What do I say to that, it wasn’t even an option on the proposal!?”.
Head back up to line #1 of this email for the answer.
