I've never been a huge fan of "year in review" wrap-up newsletters. Let's skip the dwelling and see what we can predict instead.
Here are a few things I'd love to see in 2023:
Waste and recycling gets its first real disruptor. It's loooong overdue.
More BCorps registered (hopefully us included!).
More genuinely transparent sustainability pages on more websites.
More conscious packaging options, allowing us as consumers to just buy what we need, rather than having to buy the least-worst option.
A general shift in mentality to buying and owning less stuff anyway, with greater consciousness towards how that unneeded stuff gets reused to avoid landfills.
Carbon offsets and carbon neutrality get a makeover so that it's easier for us on the buying side to understand what's happening behind the curtain (rather than behind the smokescreen).
The biggest thing I'd love to see - more businesses really starting to see the value in responsible, climate conscious, emission reducing practices, and adopting them as genuine development and growth strategies.
Happy new year, I hope it's a great one for you ✌️
