Plenty of things can play on our minds when we think of climate issues.
News about floods, droughts, fires and storms fills us with dread.
Stories about reforestation, regeneration, and innovative climate-tech fill us with hope.
Then there’s all the space in between.
I sometimes find myself worrying about the future, particularly that future just beyond my life that only the youngsters in the family will get to see. I worry that they may struggle with intense heat, food scarcity, flooded coastlines, or some other awful thing.
Other times I feel like pulling on a cape and saving some stuff, or at least trying to.
Me worrying about those things does exactly zero to fix them. I’m no warrior, but I can play a part in the fixing process.
There’s a Confucius saying that goes something like “those who move mountains begin by carrying away small stones” – I reckon a bunch of us can carry some stones…
