This morning I was on a Twitter Space—like a live podcast on Twitter—talking about the ROI of climate solutions, which I sometimes also talk about here.
An interesting perspective was mentioned, which is that as well as considering the ROI (return on investment) on your climate initiatives, it’s worth considering the waste on investment… That is, things you know aren’t going to pay off, but you keep doing them anyway because it’s what you’ve always done.
Things like paying an SEO company every month, even if you’re not getting any increase in traffic.
Or paying for a software subscription that you’re not using.
I hazard a guess that we all have WOIs… I wonder if you can think of any you could eliminate.
For self-employed creatives, normal business traps are easy to fall into and overcomplicate things - but they’re totally avoidable when flying solo.
