Visualising lower carbon emissions

The tricky thing about trying to rally everyone around this idea of reducing emissions is that it’s really hard to actually see if we’re making a difference… except when there’s been a global lockdown.

This video explains how Nasa’s satellites detected a noticeable drop in emissions during the 2020 lockdowns – around 2% globally – which may seem small, but as stated in the video “such a drop in harmful ozone would take about 15 years to achieve under even the most aggressive emission control scenarios.”

It’s a glimpse at what the 2030, 2040 and 2050 targets will look like when we’ve tackled some big issues. Pretty cool.
