We all know the first pancake sucks.
You’re figuring out the temperature of the pan, the thickness of the batter, how long before the bubbles show…
The second one is closer.
By the third, you’ve mostly figured it out.
If you look at the impact page on my website, it’s the first pancake.
I’ve done a public SFD (shitty first draft), that I can improve on.
Encouraging you to write a first pass impact page is simply suggesting a public SFD.
The mistake a lot of us make, is trying to make a perfect third pancake on the first go.
Sometimes you fluke it, and that’s awesome. But usually, you have to have a couple goes at it.
This is a discussion that Simon Sinek, Brene Brown and Adam Grant had on SS’s podcast (he attributed the pancake concept to someone else), and I found the analogy so relevant to so many areas.
Go through the motions, spend the batter, and have the courage to make the first crappy pancake.
The third one will be great 💪
