The Lindy Effect says that the future life expectancy of a thing is directly related to how long it’s already existed for.
It applies to non-perishable things like ideas and concepts, even businesses and markets (not living things).
For example, if a company has existed for 100 years, the Lindy Effect says it’ll probably survive 100 more.
The idea of “sustainability” has existed for… it depends on your source. Some say 1972; some say 1987; many will say it started with the first people.
The point: for anyone who believes “it’s “building a better world” is a fad, at this point, it’s unlikely to go away.
