“Best Sales Training In The World”.

“If you work in sales and you’re serious about your career, I’m gonna give you $300 right here right now to close more deals – did we just become best friends? I think so.”

That’s a good chunk of this dude’s YouTube video – he slaps a fabricated price on a free lead magnet, tells you he’s free’d up some marketing budget to do so, and offers to text you the code so you can claim it.

Sorry for the spoiler, and not to nitpick… but he doesn’t give you $300.

He will text you a code to got $300 off his free lead magnet though.

A few points according to him:

  • This is the best sales training in the world
  • He’s shamelessly called it a “University”
  • He ONLY HAS A FEW CODES LEFT, CLICK NOW! (I was so lucky to get one 7 months after he posted the video)

Fair to say that the techniques he’s just used on me (not knowing I’m totally undercover) are what I’m probably about to learn.

So I’m off to meet my new best friend.

In the meantime, I’d suggest the following:

  • If you’ve created something you’d like to give away for free in exchange for someone’s email address, definitely do that – but don’t pretend it ever had a price tag.
  • If you actually are the best in the world at what you do, there will be credible proof somewhere you can point to. Simply shouting it at people in a video like this is an awesome way to weaken your credibility – something you don’t have much of yet, since this could be the first video anyone sees of you (it was for me!).
  • False scarcity (only a few codes left!) are a shitty tactic to pull on people. If there’s a genuine deadline – like you have training starting on {this date} at {this time} then yes, there’s a real chance someone will miss out, so the scarcity factor is real. Just don’t pretend it’s limited if it’s not.
  • And the freeing up marketing budget line… c’mon dude. He’s already pretty slimey, but for some reason saw a need to really lay it on thick. You already know not to lie to people right 🙂
