Knowing this helps in a lot of areas of business, one being an understanding of where to focus your marketing efforts. Eg, paid ads for a contractor with 1-2 clients is probably a poor fit, but paid ads might work if you have 20+ clients and need to replace them often.
But even before doing that, it’s worth asking if you’re currently the type you’d like to be.
Some folks with fewer clients feel the nag of “they could jump ship any minute, and there’s 50% of my income gone!”; Then the folks with 20+ clients are overworked, and feel the urge to simplify.
