Scummy sales are nothing new, but they’re apparently on the mind… or the LinkedIn algorithm is just doing algorithm things.
Below was a comment on a Blair Enns post (cool guy, talks a lot about alternative sales strategies) where he’s calling out the spammers who email you a cookie-cutter script, then email you the same thing from another email address (the post is here if you’re interested).
I can’t tell if what this commenter is saying is true, or just them being savvy about the whole thing:
I wouldn’t be surprised either way (if you’ve ever seen the stuff Hormozi or Click Funnels teach, you might not be surprised either).
I’m deep in the rabbithole learning all about how the douchebags sell through fear and manipulation… as well as how cool people sell, with the intention of putting it all together into a noise-free, practical and usable thing for us “self-employeds” to use for our own ethical sales.
That thing will likely be a workshop with a one-page guide, or something close to it – shoot me a reply if you’re interested in that, just for my info (a few have already shown interest which is guiding this).
For self-employed creatives, normal business traps are easy to fall into and overcomplicate things - but they’re totally avoidable when flying solo.
