Revenue from waste

Ever wonder what actually happens to the stuff in your bin when it’s recycled?

When recycling is done properly in the home, it allows governments to process and resell those materials to businesses as a raw material.

Like plastic for use in roads, for example.

This is one thing that also happens with rubbish collected from beaches – it can be sorted and reused for new products like Good Citizen Sunglasses, which are made from recycled bottles.

In the past 6 years, plastic waste on Aussie coastlines has actually reduced by 29% due to various things like more bins, and great initiatives like Clean Up Australia Day.

…and many businesses have popped up because of it!

We still need to work on that next stage, to ensure the new products are recycled correctly at the end of their life, and always stay out of the ocean.

But 29% is huge – we’re doing good!

We acknowledge that we work on Wangal land of the wider Eora nation now known as Sydney. Wangal land sadly no longer inhabits any Wangal people.

We pay respect to the Elders of the past, as well as current and emerging Elders of surrounding lands and beyond. Let's all care for Wangal land, the Eora nation and Country.

For self-employed creatives, normal business traps are easy to fall into and overcomplicate things - but they’re totally avoidable when flying solo.
