Profitable climate action

I see climate action manifest in 2 ways.

There’s protests, petitions, campaigning, and angry fist-shaking at anyone we can blame for all the bad stuff that’s happened. Governments are a popular target, as are Shell and those types.

Then there’s the stuff we can roll our sleeves up and get done.

…and now we’re on a deadline…

To reduce emissions to 50% by 2030, we need a bucketload of action. I seriously appreciate the people who take part in the first group and if that’s you, thank you 🙏 personally I don’t do as much of that, it’s important and needed.

On the action front, Project drawdown who I mention a lot, are a pioneering organisation in this space. They’ve spent the past decade+ documenting the climate solutions that organisations around the world have set into motion.

These solutions not only address the climate crisis, but have also been proven to be financially sustainable. In other words, do them and you’ll make money while doing good.

In Drawdown’s words, these solutions give us everything we need to fix the climate crisis – they simply need scale.

As an organisation, you can dip into the list of solutions and apply Drawdown’s learnings to help scale them, while boosting your own organisation’s health, profit, and impact.

Search by sector (eg: transportation, food & agriculture, etc) or solution, and see what you need to do.

If your particular sector doesn’t appear, or you can’t find a way to fit a solution into your organisation, try their Job Function Action Guides or the Project Regeneration site (a spin-off of Drawdown) for additional solutions.
