Dunno bout you, but my inboxes have never been so overwhelmed with businesses offering to bring more leads/revenue/exposure/whatever to my business.
Around 99.99% of them mention doing it with A.I.
A.I. is a cool and useful thing, but it seems to have opened up this window where anyone with half an idea (A.I. generates the other half) can start a “business”.
George Lucas is quoted as saying:
“Learning to make films is very easy; Learning what to make films about is very hard.”
I feel like starting a business has become a bit that way – easy to start, but having a good reason for doing it is fading.
Starting and owning a business is brave, gutsy, fun, courageous, scary, adventurous, and brave again.
But if the only reason for doing it is to capitalise on a cash opportunity, it reeks off you like stink lines.
My guess is that without a purpose beyond cashola, Mr. Stinky’s A.I. Shop of More Leads™ will be one of the >60% of Aus small businesses that fail in the first couple of years – which is a really sucky stat.
As nice as making cash is, your business is about a lot more than that.
Now we just need some A.I. to teach them business owners all about it 🙂
