Until this morning I'd never heard of a Seabin.
They're floating garbage bins that skim the surface of the water to collect garbage and plastics, as well as spilled oil and fuel.
Sydney was the first city to use Seabins, and while the company is boldly aiming to clean up 100 cities by 2050, their ultimate goal is to eliminate the need for Seabins altogether.
If you go to their website they've already shifted their language from "selling Seabins" to "supporting smarter, cleaner cities."
Wonder if they've set an expiry date for themselves...!
