“It’s already been done”

Just because a technology exists, doesn’t mean it can’t be improved.

Some clever folks managed (in lab tests) to increase the efficiency of solar panels by 1,000%.

This article explains how in all its sciency nerdism, but basically they used around 500 ultra thin layers of 3 different materials, rather than one layer of one material that a typical solar panel is made from.

They now need to prove it’s a viable alternative in the market, but all their tests say it’s looking very promising.

Proving yet again that you don’t always need to come up with new ideas – sometimes it’s just a different approach that brings innovation.
