Hate is a strong word, but I developed a hate for packaging very early in my career – it always seemed so wasteful to me.
Fast forward 20-odd years, and the spotlight is heavily on wasteful packaging, particularly single-use plastic.
I opened a packet of complimentary biscuits in the hotel I’m staying at this week (with just two bikkies in it), and spotted this on the back:
This is backwards to me – I’m gonna get on my high horse here for a minute…
Why do WE, the consumers, need to “be green” and dispose of your poorly thought-out, wasteful, single-use packaging properly?
How about YOU find a way to “be green” and deal with the packaging you send out across the country and the planet?
I apologise for getting bent out of shape over a biscuit wrapper, but until companies start finding more innovative ways to deal with packaging that doesn’t rely on consumers, it’s going to land on us to do the dirty work of sorting and disposing every, single, time. Dunno about you, but I’m pretty bored with sorting rubbish!
