It's a mindset shift

There's a pretty huge mindset shift that comes with adopting a climate policy.

I wouldn't expect anyone to read something once, buy in, and just do it. Much of what appears in a climate policy can be counter to how a business typically runs:

• You buy less to save waste, rather than buying more to save cost;
• You have conversations with competitors about how to clean up your industry, rather than conspiring to annihilate them;
• You look for the best possible local supplies, rather than the cheapest supplies from who-cares-where-as-long-as-its-cheap;
• You fire clients who don't fit with your values, rather than signing any and every client who can afford you;
• You burn a little more time sourcing clean technology options like green web hosting, over using what you've always used.

Some of this stuff takes a little convincing, or perhaps just extra time to phase out the old process and create space and momentum for a new one.
