Green smoke stacks

I just spotted these things on the City west link at the Rozelle interchange:

I believe these are the smoke stacks for part of the WestConnex works – turns out the greenery is part of a greater vision, as the designer tasked with “beautifying” them has said:

“…just like people, the city needs more than its basic functionality to be met.”

While I know people will not like seeing smoke stacks popping up like this, I find that quote powerful.

I wonder what the public opinion of these things is?

We acknowledge that we work on Wangal land of the wider Eora nation now known as Sydney. Wangal land sadly no longer inhabits any Wangal people.
