I spotted the old Bonds factory in Camperdown this morning - such a cool flashback to this guy being in ads on tv when I was a kid:
My wife had said (paraphrasing): "This area is so trendy because all the buildings are old factories; but they're only old factories because all the manufacturing has moved overseas."
And we're now suddenly realising that to align with climate goals, become a more self-sufficient country, and not be at the mercy of international shifts, factories like this probably need to come home again.
The good news? Manufacturing in Australia is actually growing, as is investment in growing it further.
