Taking climate action is something that builds with momentum.
I’ve spoken to a number of business leaders who hesitated to “officially” move forward with climate to-do’s because they couldn’t replicate what some other company was doing, held that as a baseline, and felt anything short of that would just look silly.
Action begets action, and none of it is silly.
When you just start, items getting ticked off give all the following items a stronger chance of also getting ticked off.
Not only that, the actions get easier as they get bigger.
How much easier does it feel to cook the roast after all the veggies are chopped; how much easier is it to do 30 mins on the treadmill when you’re already at the gym?
Put your recycling policy in place. Or your local-first supplier policy. Or your anti slavery act. Or your no-crappy-merch policy. Whatever – get rolling, then add to it as you go.
Action begets action! 😉
For self-employed creatives, normal business traps are easy to fall into and overcomplicate things - but they’re totally avoidable when flying solo.
