With the One Shiny Object beta group training kicking off this Friday, I’ve had a few questions that I clearly haven’t addressed well (hence being a beta!), so here are some answers to help:
What stage are people at when they do the program?
Generally at least a handful of years into being self-employed, and know they deliver good outcomes when working with their clients. They may not necessarily know what the most valuable thing they do is, and that’s ok (that said, if I was asked by someone who was full-time employed and looking to go freelance in 6-12 months, I’d almost definitely suggest they started with a single fixed-price offer).
How is the program delivered? Are there live lectures or video content? If live, when are the sessions being held?
It’s over video every Friday for 4 weeks. Around 60-90 minutes per session, but with an open end-time in case of questions etc.
What’s the time commitment?
60-90 minutes per session per week, plus a couple of hours to complete tasks through the week between sessions.
In one of your emails, you mentioned a 1 on 1 call in the first week. How will that work and what will that involve?
I’ll reach out to each person individually to arrange a 1-1 call, which will likely happen after the first session (so in the week that follows) just in case you eg: forgot to ask a question, need clarification on something, or we’re too shy to speak up in the group 🙂
Are the prices in USD or AUD?
All in AUD.
I’m not a “creative” so am not sure if I’m quite right for this.
I mostly connect with people in the creative arenas because that’s my background, however the process is applicable to lots of service-based businesses, as you’re essentially building a small-scope service and systematically applying details to it (like a fixed-price, SOP, guarantee, etc). Some professions I’ve helped to create productised offerings outside of typical ‘creative’ fields include a real estate agent, a vet, mechanic, data analyst, and a bookkeeper.
Is this to build a course?
What you build is up to you, but a course is unlikely to suit. It’ll be a service you’ve delivered before, with new packaging. A good example is a photographer who did lots of different types of photography, but created a productised offer to only sell headshots. You take something you’ve done heaps of times, and make turn it into a “product”.
☆ The guarantee
You’ll uncover at least one service you can productise. Show up, do the work, and you’ll have a scalable productised service by the end of the 4 weeks, or I’ll work with you until you do.
☆ Investment
$150/week x 4 weeks
or $550 one time – which is 50% off just for this beta
(all in $AUD)
☆ When?
Session 1: Friday Nov 22
Session 2: Friday Nov 29
Session 3: Friday Dec 6
Session 4: Friday Dec 13
☆ Where & How?
We’ll meet on Video for 60-90 minutes each Friday.
Plus an additional 1-1 call with me in the first week to ensure you start strong.
And you can join a Private Slack group for questions and guidance in between.
☆ How much work am I doing between calls?
2-3 hours each week. It’s an intense program with a payoff that continues to bring returns into the future.
