Since talking about switching power suppliers the other day, I just thought it was worth sharing this idea of a “triple-switch” I came across a little while ago.
A triple-switch is when you switch your power, superannuation and banking to ethical options. If everyone does it, it’s a big hit to the investment money that typically funds harmful industries.
You can use a service like Triple Switch to walk you through the process (they have arrangements with a handful of ethical providers) or you can do your own triple switch.
If you’re doing it yourself, start with the Market Forces website to view banks and super funds who openly oppose harmful industries.
And as shared the other day, for power, start with the Green Electricity Guide.
Personally, I thought I’d done a good switch for power companies but have since learned my provider (Red Energy) aren’t doing quite as much as some others, so I’m going to do a little more digging and possibly switch again.
I’d be really interested to hear if you’ve already done this, or plan to do a triple-switch if you weren’t aware of it already… Or are you opposed to the idea? Does switching seems like a lot of work, or does it feel like all your effort won’t make much impact?
Please hit reply either way 👍
