The next big innovation?

I came across Crywolf today, a kids clothing brand that is ticking a lot of sustainability boxes.

Their Sustainability page is such a good example of a company realising how imperfect it is, but publishing what it’s doing well and what it still needs to improve on.

Any company that manufactures overseas will inherently have a large footprint through shipping, which is a tough problem to solve at the moment.

Crywolf have acknowledged that which is commendable – next, I’d love to see a plan or even just a wishlist, of how they’d like to improve on that.

We already have Upparel who have created Australia’s largest textile recycling system, helping hundreds of Aussie fashion brands close parts of their loop… is Aussie manufacturing the next big innovation for a sustainable and circular local fashion industry?

We acknowledge that we work on Wangal land of the wider Eora nation now known as Sydney. Wangal land sadly no longer inhabits any Wangal people.

We pay respect to the Elders of the past, as well as current and emerging Elders of surrounding lands and beyond. Let's all care for Wangal land, the Eora nation and Country.

For self-employed creatives, normal business traps are easy to fall into and overcomplicate things - but they’re totally avoidable when flying solo.
