Planning ahead

As mentioned last week, we're less that 100 days to 2026.

But still 93 to go, which is 3-ish months. That's a lot of planning time...

So I'm going to challenge you to think ahead.

You might be fully focused on how you're going to get through the holiday period, and the run-up to it. Good good.

But how often do you think about that "quiet" period that comes right after it?

For a lot of businesses, the Dec-Feb dip can make the worry rise up, especially if you're newly solo.

Two quick ideas for you:

  • How do you typically book clients? Think about offering them spots in your calendar now for work that will be active during that quiet period or shortly after. You can start taking deposits (or full payment) for those projects and allow clients to lock that time with you now.
  • Have you been sitting on a new product idea? The start of the year is often a good time to launch products that serve others, when their motivation and intentions are high. Not to trick them, but to genuinely help them hit the goals they've set. Offer an early bird beta to a handful of clients in exchange for feedback.

If you want to go deeper on how to plan for the "dip" period, book a private workshop with me. Only a few left for this year - we can build a customised plan for you, or map out a brand new product 👉 Book Here.

For self-employed creatives, normal business traps are easy to fall into and overcomplicate things - but they’re totally avoidable when flying solo.
