There’s a theme that pops up in all the parenting books/podcasts/reels/memes where I do my dad learning.
๐ Make it fun.
Kids apparently learn best when they’re learning through play.
Every time I “fail” at dadding – getting out the door late, kid not eating dinner, triggering a meltdown – when I reflect back, it’s always “Gah it happened again – I should have made it fun”.
Interestingly, “make it fun” has been an unspoken work motto for me.
I’m lazy. I don’t like hard things. I don’t like working hard. Or late.
Unless I’m having fun (like right now) – then it’s hard to stop ๐
