Well look at that!

Building a productised service is a wicked shortcut to trying out some new positioning, or exploring a new niche or specialisation.

To build a solid productised service, you need:

  • A fixed price
  • A fixed scope
  • A well defined process (for delivering it)
  • And (ideally) an unshakable turnaround time

The easiest way to do that, is to transform something you’ve delivered lots of times into a packaged service.

Which means you might already know:

  • The type of person who buys this kind of thing
  • Their desired outcome
  • Their (rough) budget
  • And importantly, how to deliver it efficiently

Reverse-engineer all of that, and you might start to see the outline of a niche worth exploring.

Much more practical than staring at a blank Google doc titled “My new positioning”, no?
