Ye but how?

Spotted this on a LinkedIn post ๐Ÿ‘‡

This is the un-sustainability we have entered into:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Craving products
๐Ÿ‘‰ Making them somewhere on the globe
๐Ÿ‘‰ Shipping and flying them around
๐Ÿ‘‰ …and needing to close the loop.

If you’ve ever seen the quip “every job is a climate job” and wondered but how – this bullet list might be worth writing down.

The quote was specifically about packaging, but it highlights an addiction we have to acquiring goods that are (usually either) cheap or convenient, rather than being more scrutinising.

As service providers, we’re less likely to be engaging in this kind of activity because our supply chains are generally more virtual.

But we still consume; We still buy and acquire equipment, promotional materials… maybe we even source them for our clients.

This is where your job becomes a climate job – referring back to that bullet list and asking if you can do any part of it better.
