Last year around this time, I was getting a lot of “Year in Review” emails that seemed a little too self-indulgent to mean much (do I really need to know how many new products Bose released this year?).
So I decided on a Year in Preview instead, to try and predict (or wish for) what might happen after New Years.
The list could go forever, so I’m keeping it to just 3 this year – here’s the 2024 wishlist:
๐ Still waiting for that big waste and recycling disruptor on last year’s wishlist… I’d love to see Aus pick up the ball after the collapse of RedCycle, and come out swinging with a robust, world-leading waste and recycling plan.
๐ The Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty gained a lot of momentum at COP28 – how great would it be to watch the demand for fossil fuel topple like dominos as more countries agreed to end new fossil fuel projects… After all, if Columbiaโwith a significant fossil fuel industryโcan agree to it, how hard can it be for everyone else, right?
๐ Last, I’d love to see a huge spike in emission reducing practices from businesses, rather than the same old offsets-and-recyclable-packaging spin.
It’s entirely possible to have a strong climate focus and still be a successful business. Watch out for the Digital Asset Incubator opening in early 2024 to learn more about that.
Happy new year, I hope it’s a great one for you โ๏ธ
