I stumbled on a lovely quote from author and UX designer Jim Kalbach this morning:
Work is not a place. It’s what you accomplish together.
It struck me since I’ve been a WFH’er since before social distancing was cool… but I still tell my little guy that I’m “off to work” in the morning.
Do you go to work or do you aim to accomplish work?
Personally, I don’t stand at my desk just to say “I’ve worked today”… I’m here to accomplish something a little bigger than myself, hopefully to the benefit of my family and friends… or at least try to.
Maybe it’s time to start saying “Papa’s off to accomplish great things today little bud–see you at lunch”.
