Saying goodbye to clients

I often advocate as many in the climate space do, for dropping clients who hurt your own climate initiatives.

Saying goodbye to clients, dicey or not, sounds scary for a lot of reasons.

  • Losing income
  • Missing networking and referral opportunities
  • Dropping logos from your client banner
  • Losing income 🙂

But it can be healthy in so many other ways:

  • Having time to devote to awesome clients
  • …or new ones
  • Improved Scope 3
  • Regained mental space
  • A clear conscience

The truth is, any client you say goodbye to probably won’t go out of business because of that (hopefully you won’t either).

They’ll find someone else who’ll help them. And whether they’re deserving of the help or not, let’s just say that’s a good thing, mostly for you.

So… Is there one client who it’s really time to say goodbye to?

We acknowledge that we work on Wangal land of the wider Eora nation now known as Sydney. Wangal land sadly no longer inhabits any Wangal people.

We pay respect to the Elders of the past, as well as current and emerging Elders of surrounding lands and beyond. Let's all care for Wangal land, the Eora nation and Country.

For self-employed creatives, normal business traps are easy to fall into and overcomplicate things - but they’re totally avoidable when flying solo.
