Do good where you are

Doing good things in the climate space doesn’t require having a role in “climate”.

It doesn’t require being a sustainability officer, a data analyst, or an activist (although you can be all of those things too!).

As we approach our first major “deadline” – 2030 – our emissions need to be halved from 2010 levels to be on track for a net-zero 2050.

It’s a huge target, and everyone can play a role.

• Accountants can support their clients as they move their money to ethical banking institutions.
• Creatives can get selective about the companies they promote, and call out the ones that need to change their ways.
• Housing insulation installers can get creative and offer “one-free-for-every-one-sold” services that support people in low cost of living areas, which reduces their reliance on electricity for heating and cooling, which in turn lightens load on the grid.

These are all examples of real companies in Australia, and there are countless more around the planet.

You don’t need to change careers or re-train in sustainability. Use your experience, your expertise, your skills, and your network, and commit to doing good right where you are.
