There are some fundamental things I believe need to change with the way business operates… Or really, how it starts.
A fellow voice in the climate space recently shared a breakdown of how he sees the change that needs to happen with business models (this was shared with me as a screenshot so I don’t have the details to attribute the author). It’s the most elegant explanation I’ve seen yet:
ls your company prepared for this? These are the “OLD ECONOMY PARADIGMS”:
They don’t care about what we sell, as long as we sell as much as possible.
They will be complemented and partly replaced by “NEW ECONOMY PARADIGMS”:
Are our Key Performance Indicators and our ERP systems providing any data for the latter?
We won’t fix the planet with our marketing (or CSR) departments. It’s time to fundamentally change our approach.
It’s a ground-up rebuild of what a “Business Plan” looks like, which is pretty dramatic.
